Understand how days are counted
Example: a one-week interval
June 1 to June 8, 2026 is 7 calendar days, 1 week and 5 workdays. The count includes the earlier date and excludes the later date. A list of every date from June 1 through June 8, including both endpoints, would contain 8 dates: that is a different calculation.
Reversed dates and partial weeks
Reversing these dates gives −7 days and −5 workdays. Identical dates give zero. Weeks are days divided by seven, displayed to at most two decimal places: 10 days is approximately 1.43 weeks.
Limits to check before using the result
Workdays count Monday through Friday only; holidays are not deducted. Use the result to estimate project or travel periods, but check local calendars and any special rules for legal, banking or contractual deadlines. The calculator compares dates, not elapsed hours across daylight saving changes.
